Jakarta and Bali Connected to Vietnam, Vietjet Strengthens Support for Travel Tourism

Vietnam is one of the holiday choices for Indonesian tourists who want to enjoy the atmosphere of a bustling city, culinary tourism, to natural scenery.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can be the starting point to explore various sides of the country. With direct flights from Jakarta and Bali, traveling to Vietnam also has more options.

However, behind the journey that connects the two countries, there are many things that airlines must prepare besides flight schedules and routes. In this case, fleet readiness, availability of spare parts, and maintenance processes are an important part of ensuring that operations run smoothly.Premium AI Image | Cityscape of Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam at night

Strengthening Vietjet’s Aviation Supply Chain

This is also a concern for Vietjet which has a strategic partnership with Satair, a company that is part of Airbus Services.

This collaboration was announced at the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark, through the exchange of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The signing was witnessed by the Secretary-General and President of Vietnam H.E. To Lam, the King of Denmark Frederik X, as well as senior officials from both countries.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to expand collaboration in aviation supply chain management, material services, and maintenance solutions throughout the aircraft life cycle.

This step is part of efforts to support the growth of Vietjet’s fleet while strengthening its operational readiness to serve an increasingly extensive flight network. For travelers, strengthening behind-the-scenes systems like this is relevant to the increasingly connected air travel needs.

Vietjet currently operates direct flights connecting Jakarta and Bali with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, thus opening up travel options for Indonesian tourists who want to explore Vietnam or continue their journey to other destinations in the airline network.

Although supply chain cooperation does not directly guarantee a certain flight experience, the availability of materials and technical support is an important part of maintaining fleet readiness. As the international network grows, a stronger support system is also needed to support the airline’s operational sustainability.

Vietjet and Satair Expand Their Partnership

The collaboration between Vietjet and Satair is not entirely starting from scratch. Previously, the Integrated Material Services (IMS) program had supported the growth of Vietjet’s Airbus fleet.

Through the latest agreement, the two companies will explore the development of the service, including procurement optimization, planning needs, material availability, and inventory placement.

“This memorandum of understanding is an important milestone in the development of our partnership with Vietjet. By strengthening the foundation of the Integrated Material Services program that has been running, we hope to support the growth of Vietjet’s fleet while collaborating in developing scalable, sustainable, and data-driven supply chain solutions to support Vietjet’s long-term growth ambitions,” said Richard Stoddart, Chief Executive Officer of Satair.

The cooperation also includes exploring material and logistical support for the development of Long Thanh International Airport in Vietnam. This infrastructure is part of the country’s aviation capacity development plan.Cheaply Sourcing Replacement Parts: What Is Used Serviceable Material ...

In addition, Vietjet and Satair will explore the use of used serviceable aircraft components (Used Serviceable Material/USM), component repair and exchange services, and excess inventory management.

This approach is expected to help increase cost efficiency throughout the aircraft life cycle while supporting more sustainable material management.

Digital Technology and Sustainable Aviation Support

The digital aspect is also included in the collaboration agenda. Both companies plan to explore the use of data analysis, information integration, and predictive demand planning to increase the visibility of material availability and support the fleet maintenance process.

On the operational side, this cooperation also includes strengthening the handling of aircraft that cannot operate (Aircraft-on-Ground/AOG), placing stocks in regional areas, and emergency logistics coordination.

Meanwhile, the exchange of technical knowledge and professional training programs is expected to help strengthen the capabilities of local labor in the field of Vietnam’s aviation supply chain.

Operational Support for Network Expansion

For this airline, strengthening the supply chain is part of the need to compensate for fleet expansion and international networks. The wider the network served, the more important the planning of material needs and coordination of maintenance so that operations can be managed efficiently.

“The partnership with Satair allows us to leverage Airbus’ global expertise and supply chain capabilities to improve aircraft operational and maintenance efficiency, while preparing for the development of strategic infrastructure, including Long Thanh International Airport. We hope to strengthen local technical expertise and develop talent in the aviation sector in Vietnam, thus supporting a more sustainable industry in the future,” said Vietjet Chief Executive Officer, Nguyen Thanh Son.

To follow up on the agreement, Vietjet and Satair plan to form a Joint Working Group. This team will evaluate collaboration opportunities in various fields, ranging from material and logistics services to digitization, operational support, and human resource development.

What This Means for Travelers Between Bali and Vietnam

This cooperation also strengthens the relationship between the Vietnamese and Danish aviation industries through the involvement of Vietjet and Satair.

For tourists, the impact is not in the form of changes in destinations or travel facilities directly, but rather part of the strengthening of the support system that airlines need to continue to develop their flight services.Explore More: New Direct Flight Routes to Bali and Jakarta Set to ...

For travelers from Bali and Jakarta, the continued development of direct connections with Vietnam provides additional options for international travel, while stronger airline supply-chain and maintenance capabilities can help support the continued expansion of regional air connectivity.

Bali Travel and Real Estate Connection

Improved international connectivity is an important factor for Bali’s tourism and property market. Direct air connections make Bali more accessible to regional travelers and can contribute to continued interest in the island as a destination for holidays, longer stays, and investment.

As Bali continues to strengthen its position as an international tourism destination, developments in regional aviation connectivity remain important for both visitors and the broader Bali economy.
